The best adventures are

the ones we make ourselves.

Where am I?

You are surrounded by a thick, heavy darkness.  It fills your entire vision and seems to swim inside your head as well.  As you float, lost in the blackness, a light slowly begins to emerge in the distance.  You feel yourself drawn toward it.

Opening your eyes, you find yourself staring at a clear, blue sky.  You sit up to get your bearings and find yourself in a wooded area, surrounded by trees.  Huge mountains loom in the distance, casting long shadows against the sunrise.  As the sun rises, you also glimpse a ribbon of smoke against the sky.  You listen for the sounds of people, but only hear the sounds of the woods.

Your head aches.  You try to remember how you ended up here, but the darkness still sloshes around in your mind, blocking the memory.  Realizing that you can't just sit here, you dust yourself off and rise to your feet.  If you want to survive, you have only one option...

EXP & Badges

You earn experience points (exp) by completing missions. Missions include both assignments and behaviors.  Often, you will have a choice of assignments worth different exp, and you may decide how many points you want to earn.

Badges are earned from the completion of larger missions or mission sets.  Several missions may be required before earing a badge of completion for a mission set.

Both you and your teacher will track your experience points and badges.  It is very important that you keep an accurate record, since your teacher will be keeping up with so many players and could fail to record a badge or point set.

   Levels

Leveling up is done through a comination of EXP and Badges.  For example, to reach Level 2 (and loose n00b status), you must earn 100 exp and the Player's Badge.

Levels will match up with advances in the game's story line.  As you level up in the real world through your missions, your character will progress and learn more about the world and his/her fate.

As you level up, you will earn new missions and new perks that can be used as you see fit.

   Perks

Perks are rewards you earn for gaining a specific level.  Some perks will exist in the game world only while others will exist in the real world.  Some perks are single-use, so be sure to use them wisely. Perks belong to you alone and cannot be shared or traded with other players (unless you get the Trader perk).  Perks will also not level up with you, so it is important to plan and use your perks well.

Some perks include

  • Rainfall Perk - earn 2X exp on one mission.

  • Skipper Perk - exempt one side mission (no exp earned)

  • Friend Perk - give 100 exp to another player (does not affect your exp)

  • Softie Perk - use pillows in class one day

  • Cookie Monster Perk - get a cookie at lunch from the teacher (limited time)

  • Slug Perk - turn in one late assignment without a late work letter

  • Trader Perk - trade your previous perk with another player and gain their current perk.

  • Scrooge Perk - collect any previous perk and use it again
